North Bali is famous for its deep-sea "Tuna Alley," where the Bali Sea drops off into nutrient-rich waters. This is an authentic catch-and-release or catch-to-cook experience. You will join a local fishing family on a traditional outrigger (jukung), using traditional hand-line or trolling techniques to hook Yellowfin or Skipjack Tuna as the sun rises over the horizon. Whether you are a pro angler or a first-timer, there is nothing like the thrill of the first strike at dawn. Expert Fishing Tips Timing is Everything: Tuna are most active in the low light of early morning. Don't be late for the 5:00 AM departure! Patience Pays Off: Fishing is a game of patience. Enjoy the sunrise and the sea—the strike often happens when you least expect it. What to Wear: The wind can be cool on the open sea; bring a light windbreaker. Polarized sunglasses are excellent for spotting fish movement under the surface. Sea Conditions: Since we go further offshore than the dolphin tours, the water can be slightly choppier. If you are prone to motion sickness, take a preventative 30 minutes before boarding.
